My assumption was that they would sit and read on these chairs when feeling tired and not sociable enough to want to be with anyone else in the family. So I got them a little wooden box to go next to their foam chairs so that they would have somewhere to put their book and drink, other than the floor.
The first thing I did was make sure that I bought ones with washable covers, essential what ever the age of the kid. Next I bought ones which were slightly patterned, but not specifically targeted at an age or sex. So I avoided the ones with little footballers on, and space rockets. I opted for dark blue wavy patterns. This meant that any marks I couldn`t get off didn`t show too much. It also meant that I could easily throw a couple of cushions on them and make them look a bit better.
There are basically three types of chair which convert to beds; the futon chair bed, foam chair bed and the armchair bed. There all have advantages and disadvantages. Below is a quick guide to get you started and help you establish what you should be looking for.
I love the foam bed. I have to confess to having several and they are great. I have two boys and each kid has one in their room, and I could not imagine life without them. So why are foam chair beds so good? Well, firstly, let me explain that I was fully aware of what I was buying why I purchased my foam chair beds. I knew that they would be kept in kids rooms, so I took a few precautions.
