Los Angeles police are increasing their presence on MTA rail and bus lines, and major tourist venues are also seeing increased security measures in the aftermath of a terrorist bombing on a London subway train, authorities said on Friday.
The Los Angeles Police Department announced the actions in a statement on Friday morning, describing them as precautionary measures. The homemade bomb explosion in London reportedly left 22 people injured during rush hour on Friday.

The LAPD’s counterterrorism and special operations bureau also contacted UK officials and U.S. law enforcement agencies. They determined there is no evidence of a nexus between the attack in London and L.A., the LAPD reported.
“The most important security measure is the vigilance of our community and making sure you report suspicious activity,” the LAPD said.
Authorities asked people to say something if they see suspicious activity, which can be reported directly to the LAPD through downloading and using the iWatch app from the Apple or Android stores.
During non-business hours or on the weekends, people can call 877-527-3247 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers 800-222-8477.
